New Items at the GK Shop

We have added a few new items in the Gurukitty Studios online store!
Here is a quick overview of some of the new things for this fall!

Previously only available in person at Conventions, we've now added the Daqueran New Reader Pack back into the shop.
This pack includes all available issues of Daqueran (1-6) and will be updated when the last chapter becomes available.

It's a steal at $25.00 (value of all 6 comics by themselves totals $32.50)

This has been a very popular convention item so there isn't much stock available at the moment. If online interest grows we will consider carrying more volume.

Next new addition is the Giants of Mainstreet Anthology by Cloudscape. Why is this in our shop you ask? Well, because Jayleen (Guru of Gurukitty Studios) contributed a creature for the Bestiary that was included in the book.

It is 152 Black and White pages, with art and stories contributed by Vancouver area artists.

Last and certainly not least, we've added a Pre-Order for Gurukitty Studios Second Anthology Once Upon a Time... Right now it is only a pre-order, books will ship when Available. When the books are in stock, this same link will become the store link for regular stock.

The pre-order is for the standard cover only, if you wanted the Variant cover, you missed your chance as that was only available in the Indiegogo campaign.

The Variant cover will be available again, someday, but only on special occasions.

If we blast a little farther back you'll notice that we've added some digital comics to our online shop. Right now it's only a few Daqueran issues, which you can download and read on your Tablet.
Digital comics are not as easy to make as you might think and we've been working on Digital copies for future issues as well as getting the Anthologies available for digital download.
Soon soon. All in good time.
We've tested our digital comics on Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablets.

Hello!

a quick note to say that we will be at Vancouver Comiccon again on May 15th and the Tiks in a bottle will be back in stock in time for that con. We ran out of them last convention which was a little embarrassing but we've been busy making tiny tik sculptures and mixing and dying resin and popping it all into tiny little bottles.

Also, Chapter 5 has just been shipped to us and if the comic faeries are with us, they might arrive in time for the May 15th Comiccon! Please note that Chapter 5 is not part of the Daqueran Clearance sale, only 1-4 are.

Also, Chapter 6 is the final Chapter of Daqueran. Sad I know, but We need to move on and get more projects on the go.

I thought I'd show you some close up shots of some panels in Daqueran. You don't really get to see all the details in the hard copy comics and especially not on the web.
So I thought this might interest some of you watercolour lovers.

I put lots of time into this panel.  I think it turned out pretty snazzy, it was much better after I added the pink into the whites.

Daqueran Clearance Sale

Starting right now we are having a Daqueran Clearance Sale. Some of you remember that Vancouver was all set to have a big Convention called Fan Fair Fest that cancelled a week before it was set to start! We have an excessive amount of stock as a result of preparing for that convention so now we're looking to clear out this stock. We are selling the first 4 issues of Daqueran at COST.

This sale only lasts as long as we have stock, and the sale was a big hit at Vancouver Comiccon so get it while it lasts! 

Speaking of Comicon, Yesterday Kitty sat in at Vancouver Comiccon and had a pretty successful day! We had some customers come back and tell us they loved the Tik charm they bought, and get lots of compliments on them, we sold out of Tiks in a bottle! The best part was all the compliments we got! It's really a boost to get some positive feedback! We're starting to be recognizable, and we're really excited about that! 

So we have lots of conventions coming up too!

Comic Clearance sale March 20th

March 20th  at Vancouver comicon we are having a liquidation sale! We want to get rid of our overstock off Daqueran issues 1-4 so while supplies last on March 20th at Heritage Hall, 3102 Main Street, Vancouver, BC 11-5pm we will have a buy 2 get 2 free comic sale.


We will also have other merchandise such as buttons, notebooks, 2010 sketchbook, a free The Bachelors and the Python minicomic, sketch cards, prints and much more.

Daqueran Hiatus and things coming up

Because of school, Christmas and generally having way too much for one person to do at the moment, Daqueran is on a brief Hiatus until January.

In the meantime, I am working on the teaser to The Bachelors and the Python which will be a black and white graphic novel, possibly grey toned, but I haven't decided about that yet. I'll know more about that at the end of the day today. I'll have the pages online and I'll try and make it into a mini comic to give away at conventions ass well, or sell for dirt cheap just to cover paper and ink costs.
So the 4 page teaser comic should be posted...well after Monday, so maybe, Tuesday night, but I still need to finish the website, so we will see.
I'll post it on Drunk Duck, Deviantart, and some others and there will be a sub page on Gurukitty.com, which you can see the graphic is already there and waiting to be linked.


In January will be another Vancouver Comicon, and we will be there, as soon as tables open up and I can secure one. We will be releasing a printable coupon that you can bring to the Gurukitty Studios table and get something for free.  So keep your peepers peeled for that!

Less than a month until Christmas, I'm very excited for this year because our mother moved into a nice new apartment with a neat view, and It's going to be a nice quiet small Christmas.

Notebooks/ blank sketchbooks

We are both notebook junkies, we love collecting and doodling and w

riting useless junk in cute little notebooks.

So with that in mind, we've been playing with some ideas for little blank notebooks and tiny sketchbooks to sell at the conventions and we've come up with a few cute covers and formats.

Obviously, the cover art on these little notebooks will feature Gurukitty Studios artwork, but so far the inside pages are blank.

later we will be making sketchbooks containing sketches and little seen art from projects and things, but thats not going to come until we've got a good solid format.

These little notebooks will make their first appearance at the Nov 14th Vancouver Comic Con. We will have a table there.

Daqueran and his wife

Here is a special bonus content for you bloggers. This is a quick sketch of a character design of Daquerans wife from when he (and she) was alive. I have her skin, eye and hair colours in mind but I haven't done any colour examples of her yet, though she has been the subject of many sketches.

I have some name choices for her on the image there, in order of which ones I like best. I wouldn't mind knowing which name you like best of the four listed.

She most likely doesn't appear in the comic much, if at all, she's there for my own character developing purposes. I'm visual and I needed a visual representation of Daquerans past.

So what do you think of her? Which name do you like the best?
